Am 20. Juni 2009 fand bei der Modellbahnfirma Piko wieder ein Tag der offenen Tür statt. Aus diesen Anlass kamen mehrere Sonderzüge nach Sonneberg. Auch E 44 044 des Ausbesserungs-werks Dessau war im Auftrag des Eisenbahn-museums Leipzig an diesem Tag mit einen historischen Personenzug auf den Weg nach Sonneberg. Das Bild entstand kurz nach 13 Uhr am Bahnübergang in Haarbrücken bei Neustadt bei Coburg.

Am 25. Juni 2011 konnte E 44 044 des Ausbesserungswerks Dessau wieder zum Tag der offenen Tür bei der Modellbahnfirma Piko in der Spielzeugstadt Sonneberg begrüßt werden.

On 20 June 2009, at the model railway company Piko again held a day of open door. For this event more special trains came to Sonneberg. Also E 44 044 of Ausbesserungswerk Dessau was commissioned by the Leipzig railway museum in this day with a historic passenger train on the way to Sonneberg. The picture was taken at a railroad crossing in Haarbrücken near Neustadt bei Coburg.

On June 25, 2011 was E 44 044 of the repair shop Dessau be welcomed back to the open day at the model railway company Piko in the toy city Sonneberg.
