An den Dampftagen 2016 im Dampflokwerk Meiningen war Lok 50 0072-4 des Bayerischen Eisenbahnmuseums (BEM) zu Gast. Die Maschine wurde 1940 bei Krauss-Maffei als Lok 50 481 für die Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft (DRB) gebaut. Von Sommer 1956 bis Herbst 1957 wurde sie im Reichsbahnausbesserungswerk (RAW) Stendal zur 50 3502 umgebaut und erhielt 1971 eine Ölhauptfeuerung. Seit 1991 gehört sie zum Bestand des BEM.

Im September 2015 war die Lok 50 0072-4 zu Gast bei den Märklin Tagen in Göppingen und konnte dort im Bahnhof besichtigt werden.

2019 konnte man auf der Lok 50 3501 im Dampflokwerk Meiningen während der Dampftage seinen Ehrenlokführer machen. Hierfür stand die zum Bestand des Dampflokwerkes gehörende Maschine unter Dampf. Die Lok wurde 1940 bei Borsig als 50 380 gebaut und von Sommer 1956 bis Herbst 1957 im RAW Stendal zur 50 3501 umgebaut.

Locomotive 50 0072-4 of the Bavarian Railway Museum (BEM) was a guest on the Steam Days 2016 in the Meiningen steam locomotive works. The machine was built in 1940 by Krauss-Maffei as locomotive 50 481 for the Deutsche Reichsbahn Gesellschaft (DRB). On the locomotive 50 3501 in the Meiningen steam locomotive works you could make your honorary driver during the Steam Days 2019. For this the machine was under steam. The locomotive was built by Borsig in 1940 as the 50 380 and converted into the 50 3501 in the RAW Stendal from summer 1956 to autumn 1957.

Am 23. /24. September 2006 feierte die Strecke Sonneberg – Lauscha ihr 120 jähriges Jubiläum. Leider war am Wochenende die Brandgefahr auf der Strecke zu hoch, so das es am Samstag, kurz vor Lauscha, zu zwei Bränden kam. Deshalb stand die BR 50 3501 des Dampflokwerks Meiningen am Sonntag nur für kurze Führerstandsmitfahrten zwischen dem Sonneberger Bahnhof und dem Lokbahnhof zur Verfügung. On 23/24 In September 2006 the Sonneberg - Lauscha line celebrated its 120th anniversary.
