(GE C40-9W) und Nummer 9710 (GE C44-9W) einen Güterzug gleich durch die berühmte Hufeisen-Kurve in den Allegheny Mountains.

Oberhalb des Horseshoe Curve Schildes bespannten die beiden Norfolk Southern Loks Nummer 9463 und Nummer 9912 am 19. Mai 2018 einen talwärts fahrenden Containerzug.

Coming from Altoona, Pennsylvania, the two Norfolk Southern locomotives number 9442 (GE C40-9W) and number 9710 (GE C44-9W) pull a freight train right through the famous horseshoe curve in the Allegheny Mountains.

Während die beiden Lokomotiven (Nummer 9887 und 9527) den kleinen Park schon hinter sich gelassen haben, donnert der restliche Teil des Zuges noch ein paar Minuten an diesen vorbei.

Nachdem die Loks auf diesem Bild schon am rechten Bildrand hinter der nächsten Kurve verschwunden sind, schlängelt sich der Zug noch in meinen Rücken durch die Hufeisen-Kurve. Dies wird auch noch ein paar Minuten andauern, denn das Ende des gleichen Zuges ist am linken Bildrand noch nicht zu erkennen.

Drei Lokomotiven der NS sind hier am 19. Mai 2018 mit ihrem Intermodal Zug in der Hufeisen-Kurve bei Altoona, Pennsylvania zu sehen. Als Zuglok war an diesem Tag Lok Nummer 9956
(GE C40-9W) im Einsatz. Ihr folgten die GE C40-9W Loks Nummer 9132 und Nummer 9060.

Mit einem Zug, gebildet aus offenen Güterwagen (Gondola), waren am 19. Mai 2018 sechs Maschinen der NS beschäftigt, diesen von Altoona, Pennsylvania kommend über die Hufeisen-Kurve den Berg hoch zu befördern. Vorne am Zug befanden sich die beiden GE C44-9W Maschinen mit den Nummern 9148 und 9534. Am hinteren Ende die vier neu aufgebauten EMD SD 40E Lokomotiven mit den Nummern 6315, 6322, 6301 und 6317.

On May 19, 2018, six NS machines were busy with a train made up of gondolas to transport them from Altoona up the mountain via the horseshoe curve. At the front of the train were the two GE C44-9W machines with the numbers 9148 and 9534. At the rear end were the four rebuilt EMD SD 40E locomotives with the numbers 6315, 6322, 6301 and 6317.

Zwei Neu aufgebaute EMD SD40E, Nummer 6308 und 6306, schieben einen Intermodal Train auf der Hufeisen-Kurve bei Altoona, Pennsylvania nach.

Auf dem Gelände der Altoona Works stand am 20. Mai 2018 die neu aufgebaute SD60E Nummer 6980.

Aus Altoona kommend befördern die drei NS Lokomotiven Nummer 6987 (Neu aufgebaute EMD SD60E), 9081 (GE C40-9W) und 9255 (GE C44-9W) einen Intermodal Zug die Allegheny Mountains hoch.

On May 20, 2018, the rebuilt SD60E number 6980 was on the site of the Altoona Works.

In der Nähe von La Crosse, Wisconsin wartete am 11. Mai 2016 ein Kesselwagenzug auf Streckenfreigabe. Als Zugloks kamen die EMD SD70ACe Nummer 1086 und die GE ES44AC Nummer 8063 zum Einsatz.
